You might be surprised to hear me say this, but being an escort photographer must be one of the most difficult jobs around. The reason for this is simple. The eventual viewer of an image will want to see an accurate representation of a girl, so that when he meets her in the flesh, literally, he is not disappointed. However, I get paid by the girls, and if I don’t please them, I don’t eat! I’m not saying that every girl I photograph needs major digital surgery, but it’s very unusual to find anyone that needs nothing. I do try very hard to retouch photos in such a way so that the girls remain ‘real’ but some girls do insist on thinning down and smoothing skin too much.
What makes a good escort photograph?
A beautiful girl? Maybe, but not necessarily. I have found that a successful photography session relies on a girl’s personality and whether or not it can be captured by the camera. Some of the most long legged, bustiest girls can be a disaster in front of the camera if they are bored, have an expression that looks like they’re waiting for a bus, or if they turn up with just a pair of knickers and say how long is it going to take!
Preparation
An average girl who story boards and makes the effort to have professional make up, brings along good quality stockings, corsets, matching underwear etc, etc and who looks like she’s enjoying the experience will undoubtedly be more successful with her photos. I can spot a truly decent girl who would be great to book, within 5 minutes of meeting her. These girls generally take the photography session seriously, understand how important it is to their business and come off better for it.
What to wear
So you’ve got the gorgeous lingerie, but what about clothes? A lot of clients are keen to see girls in various states of undress, to feed their imagination. A girl standing naked smiling at the camera leaves nothing to the imagination and the more titillating rather than obvious the pictures are, the more exciting they are to look at.
You need to show all sides of your personality, not implying that you need to be schizophrenic, that’s just scary, but showing how you can be the dominant school mistress, coy school girl or exquisite lingerie model. By creating people’s fantasy visuals you can get more business. But beware; I recently took some photos of a girl in her friends bondage outfit and once the picture was on her site, she constantly had clients requesting she wear the outfit, eventually she had to buy something similar to fulfil their requests!
How to Pose
You need know your best assets and try to make sure you enhance and draw attention to these when posing. Many of the sexiest poses you can strike are realistically terribly uncomfortable, but look gorgeous. Listen to the photographer, if he tells you to stick your bum out - sod the debilitating pain in your lower back - stick it out, because obviously you’ve got a great arse and you need to draw more attention to it.
Often the photographer will see through the lens that you need to make slight changes to your pose lifting or dropping your chin, tipping your head etc. Small movements can be the difference between a nice photo and a gorgeous photo, so be patient. Also remember your less perfect bits, if you have a round tummy, hold it in, even with the joys of retouching there are certain things that don’t need to be done and the final picture looks better when not overly manipulated.
AND TRY TO RELAX! Someone who is more relaxed comes across better in photographs, I know it’s obvious, but it makes a bit difference.
Overcoming Nerves
Most girls start a session feeling a little bit apprehensive and some are utterly petrified living in dread. The start of the shoot can really set the tone and if you come organised knowing what you’re going to wear, it takes off some of the pressure. For the first set of pictures, pick the outfit you feel most confident in it will ease the tension and go for poses that you feel more comfortable striking.
But if you’re really tense there’s nothing like good music and a bit of Dutch courage! The photographer will do his best to ease you into the shoot comfortably, but perhaps foregoing your morning coffee and grabbing a cup of camomile might be a good alternative!
Little Tricks of the Eye
Don’t do the straps too tight at the back on your bra it avoids back overhang, the same with knickers and bottoms, try to buy a size bigger, as you won’t get muffin top or visible love handles.
If you’re barefoot, point your toes as it creates a longer leg line and creates a lovely curve to the calf muscles. If you have shorter legs don’t wear ankle straps, they stunt the leg, a pointy stiletto always makes a man happy and it gives a longer slimmer looking leg.
If you want your boobs to look bigger, as well as padded bras and inserting chicken filets, buy a cup size smaller as it creates a deeper cleavage.
If the tops of your thighs are one of your weaker points go for stockings and suspenders, or stockings held in place with tit tape rather than hold ups, as they can create an unflattering bulge.
If you’re doing a hands on hips shot, hold the waist rather than hips, as it slims more rounded hips and accentuates the waist.
If you want a more pronounced pout without surgical assistance, try a product called Lip-Injection; it’s recommended by make up artists and creates a tingling sensation slightly reddening and puffing up the lips. Another trick is to put a small strip of tissue under your top lip and over your gums, but you must remember not to use too much as when you smile it shows and looks a little odd.
If you’ve been out the night before and have tell-tell eyes, although a photographer can airbrush out most of it, eye drops are an essential, clear sparkly eyes are always a plus. Also for puffiness in an emergency, use a dab of haemorrhoid cream, top models swear buy it and it dramatically reduces the swelling.
So with that all said and done you’ve got all the tools you need to look fabulous in your photographs, good luck and happy snapping!
